Video training

A video lesson is a form of distance learning that involves delivering educational material through a video recording, accessible at any convenient time for learners. This recording can be a simple lecture or a demonstration of practical skills, a presentation with the author’s commentary, or a screen recording of a specialist teaching how to use software.

A video lesson has several advantages when used as an educational material:

Accessibility for understanding

  • The video format allows the transmission of a maximum amount of information in a short period. This makes it convenient and easy to understand for learners. They can watch what the lecturer is doing, listen to them, and read additional notes. If they get distracted or do not understand something, they can simply rewind the lesson and review the unclear part.

Convenience for use

  • When learning through video lessons, the learner does not need to read a lot or constantly focus on the speech in an audio lecture. They can watch lessons on the way to work or in the break room, without reducing the quality of learning.

Clarity of material

  • In videos, you can show things that would be too difficult to explain with words. For example, learning to work with complex software is better done through screencast lessons – a recording of the teacher’s screen with their commentary. Some practical skills are better developed when the learner sees an example. Additionally, during video editing, important points can be visually highlighted or emphasized, and good design helps keep the learner’s attention on the lesson.
